CAT SCRATCH FEVER

Three weeks ago my son told me he was playing around with our cat that we got on around november of 2011 http://justaboutanything1.blogspot.com/2011/11/what-to-do-with-this-crazy-cat.htmland he likes to roughhouse with our o cat,and the cat scatched him several times on different occassions i told him not to play so rough with him and not let her scratch  him because she can scatch hard and hurt him if she did. After a week he developed a fever and was vomiting so we took him to the doctor and he said just to give him ibuprofen so we did it helped with the fever and we sent him back to school a week later.School sent him back and said he was still running a fever  and his lymph node were swollen so the next day we took him to aftercare they also thought it was just a fever and suggested ibuprofen. He still had the fever and his lymph nodes were even bigger and hurting him so the next day i  read this article on yahoohttp://shine.yahoo.com/pets/ten-fascinating-facts-cats-175300214.html and looked up more information  on here http://health.yahoo.net/channel/cat-scratch-fever.html.So we decided to take him to emergency because he was still having and fever and also had the  lymph nodes were really hurting him more then before.Emergency at ROCHESTER GENERAL HOSPITAL IN ROCHESTER NY took a look at him(we told them about the article) and after several blood test they gave him meds for cat scratch fever.Never knew about cat scratch fever until now.So if you have any kids and cats be careful.
